Biografy: from Berlin, Electrical Engineer by education, worked 25 years in the controls group at the synchrotron light source BESSY II in Berlin and 10 years at the ITER Organization, with short stays at the APS (Argonne) 1999/2000 and at NSLS-II (Brookhaven) 2009/2010. EPICS Core Developer since 1999. Currently, he works as "Control System Coordinator" at the ITER Organization..

Abstract: 14 years after its construction began, the ITER machine is being assembled and the first delivered systems have started commissioning. After an introduction to the ITER project, the presentation will show its current status and provide an inside view of status and challenges of the ITER Integrated Control System.
